The Abbots are the main characters behind the history of Priscos.
This land is essentially known for the feats of its successive titular priests, whether for their arms, the wooden spoon or the manger.
Priscos was led by Abbots that stood out as members of the Chapter of the Primatial See, Visitors at the service of Archbishops, Seminary rectors or teachers, while others sowed their legacy in the community, whether by building a new church like Father Gaspar Teixeira de Carvalho, or by being fully devoted to his parishioners, as is the great example of the long-lived Father Artur Lopes dos Santos.
Even though the names of some Abbots are absent from this inventory, namely those prior to the 16th century, we still know they were remarkable, not only for the ecclesiastical and even financial relevance of the parish, but mainly because of the legacy left by the Abbots we have come to know.

The Interpretation Centre of the Abbots of Priscos is located in the House of the Abbot of Priscos.
The House of the Abbot was renovated in 2017 to accommodate the Interpretive Center.
